Abacus International, Asia’s leading provider of travel solutions and services, today announced the appointment of Mr Jeet Sawhney as the managing director of Abacus India, effective from today.  

In his new role, Mr Sawhney will help in establishing Abacus’ leadership position in the travel technology and distribution market and work closely with suppliers, partners and agents in India.  

“Jeet has a great deal of experience and understanding of the India travel market. He will play a key role in Abacus’ ambitious growth targets in India as well as across the region,” said Mr Brett Henry, Vice President, Marketing and Vice President, India from Abacus International.  

“India is a key growth market in the travel industry and presents tremendous opportunity for our business. We are confident that Jeet’s leadership and tenacity will further strengthen our presence and growth in India,” Mr Henry continued.  

Mr Sawhney joins Abacus from VFS Global, a subsidiary of Swiss multinational Kuoni Group.  He held the role of Vice President for Global Business, responsible for the growth and operations for VFS Global.   Mr Sawhney brings to Abacus over 20 years of experience across diversified industry segments including aviation, travel business, retail and telecommunications.
