Garuda Indonesia held The Garuda Indonesia Travel Fair (GATF) road show in Java Mall Semarang on 23-25 September 2011 for the first time. The GATF was opened by the Mayor of Semarang, Mr. Soemarmo.

Together with nine travel agents and working in collaboration with Abacus to provide the customer support systems and required personnel, Garuda Indonesia successfully achieved the target International and domestic sales of 3 billion. From Semarang, GATF was then held in Palembang, Yogyakarta, and Pontianak. This national event was previously held in Jakarta, Medan, Surabaya, Bandung and Makassar.

With the growing demand from customers, Garuda Indonesia is also currently reviewing the opening of new routes to Semarang-Singapore, Semarang-Surabaya and Semarang-Denpasar.
